Performance Core Carbon
Often abbreviated as PC Carbon or PCC, it describes fins that react particularly quickly to movements due to their strategically positioned carbon and optimally support the shape of the fin. These fins are popular with fast surfers who value explosive maneuvers at critical points on the wave.
The latest generation of the PCC Essential Series features AirCore technology. This is based on a core made of pressed polyurethane foam that perfectly replicates the shape of the fin, allowing for a significant weight reduction while maintaining complete flexibility control.
The internal carbon framework is specifically designed for each template. By switching to epoxy and adding carbon twill to the base, we've created a more user-friendly flex pattern. Stiffness in the lower half of the fin improves propulsion and acceleration on takeoff, while a softer flex in the upper half of the fin results in a smoother and more predictable feel when turning.
